The KJT-E16A25-LY series Variable Reluctance Speed (VRS) sensors consist of an iron core, an inductive coil and a permanent magnet. A ferrous pole wheel passing the sensor face changes the magnetic field strength, resulting in an AC Voltage being induced in the coil. The frequency of the output signal is proportional to the speed of the moving target. The amplitude of the signal depends on speed, air gap, geometry of the target, magnetic properties of the target material and the electrical load. VRS sensors, also known as passive or electromagnetic sensors, do not require an external supply.

KJT D12P series Differential Hall-Effect Speed sensors are suitable, in conjunction with a ferrous pole wheel, for generating square wave signals proportional to rotary speeds. They exhibit a dynamic function, whereby pulse generation down to 5 Hz is guaranteed. The sensor must be oriented with respect to the pole wheel as shown in the dimensional drawing (see spec sheet below).

The KJT-D12A-LY series Differential Hall-Effect Speed sensors are suitable, in conjunction with a ferrous pole wheel, for generating square wave signals proportional to rotary speeds. The D12A exhibits a static function, whereby pulse generation down to 5 Hz is guaranteed. D12A speed sensor
